SG Living: Frequently Asked Questions
What is SG Living?
SG Living offers structured sober living homes designed to support individuals in early recovery by providing a safe, alcohol- and drug-free living environment. Our homes are rooted in community, accountability, and personal development.
Who is eligible to live in an SG Living home?
We accept individuals who are committed to maintaining sobriety, actively participating in recovery, and willing to live in a structured environment. Every prospective resident is required to complete an application and assessment prior to approval.
Is SG Living a treatment center?
No. SG Living is not a treatment facility or medical detox center. We provide aftercare housing that supports residents in their recovery journey after inpatient treatment, detox, or rehab. Residents are expected to be medically and mentally stable upon entry.
What is the structure like in a sober living home?
Our homes provide a structured daily routine that includes:
-
Morning meditation
-
Assigned chores and weekly deep cleaning
-
Mandatory recovery meeting attendance (AA, NA, SMART Recovery)
-
Weekly house meetings
-
Curfew based on assigned recovery phase
-
Urinalysis (UA) and Breathalyzer (BA) testing
Are there house rules residents must follow?
Yes. Some key rules include:

No drugs, alcohol, or nicotine products outside designated areas
-
No visitors allowed on property

No energy drinks or rough housing
-
No pets allowed
-
Curfew compliance and room cleanliness required

Failure to follow house rules may result in discharge.
What happens if a resident fails a drug or alcohol test?
SG Living has a zero-tolerance policy. Any refusal to comply with testing or a positive result is grounds for immediate discharge. All tests are directly observed by staff to ensure integrity.
What safety measures are in place?
-
Clearly marked emergency exits
-
Fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in all units
-
First aid kits and overdose reversal supplies available
-

Are staff members in recovery themselves?
Many of our managers are in recovery and lead by example, actively participating in 12-step programs. All staff follow a strict Code of Ethics, including maintaining sobriety and appropriate professional boundaries.
Can residents take prescription medications?
Yes, but all prescriptions must be declared and kept in locked drawers. Mind-altering substances or unauthorized over-the-counter drugs are not allowed and will result in discharge.
Are there any financial requirements?
Yes. Residents are responsible for paying weekly or monthly program fees. All financial arrangements are discussed during the intake process. Monthly participation starts at $700 per month and includes all utilities, internet, and home suppleis. Managers are prohibited from engaging in personal financial transactions with residents.
